This past May, Madelyn took her first swim lessons. I wanted her to get comfortable with the water so that we would be able to go to the pool during the summer without fear! Little did I know that the summer would be consumed by house selling and house buying...we only made it to the pool a few times.
She did pretty well, although the first couple classes she did whimper for the first few minutes. The water was a little cold for my taste, so she may have felt the same! And the class was at 5:30 p.m., so by the end of the class, she usually had her head on my shoulder...tired girl!

Playing in the splash area. Madelyn had only been walking for about a week. The red spot on her thigh was a reaction to the chicken pox shot!
Happy Swimmer!

The class circled around at the indoor pool.

Kick! Kick! Kick!

One of the lessons was to blow a ping pong ball along the surface of the water (and ultimately to learn to blow bubbles in the water). Madelyn had not yet developed this skill - she was the youngest in the class - and instead kept grabbing the ball.
