When Madelyn was a whole FOUR days old, she had her first bottle. I am nursing, and I know the books all say to wait until the baby is 4-6 weeks old before giving a bottle to prevent "nipple confusion", but I just couldn't wait! I was so (so, so, so) exhausted and wanted a break from the 30-minute process of feeding her. Madelyn had no problems taking the bottle - she gulped down her half-ounce in two minutes! I have to admit, I was terrified that she was going to choke to death, but she was fine!
Thanks to Grandpa for feeding her so carefully. As he likes to say, he is "checked out" in diapers and bottles! :)
